1 Chronicles 3:10-6:30
Upon reading inspirational blogs, what sticks out most? Does it highlight deficiencies in our character or drive us to the proper introspection to no longer live in immaturity?
Is constantly browsing the internet for inspiration where we exhaust most of our time management? Time is never to be wasted and we should always strive to leave the prisons that hold us back from our true potential! Is there any profit to spending time on these sites admiring the handiwork of other people?
Meditating on a previous broadcast (Death by Survivorship Bias), I sought to better understand what things prevented me from realizing the potential was in me to lift up my confidence to accomplish whatever tasks where ahead of me. Putting pride aside, I realized that a suffered a lot of doubt as to who I was. Fearing the idea of, always, losing control, I sought affirmation from other people and changed who I was to meet their standards for success!
I am not ashamed to talk about my faith in Jesus. He inspires me all the time and when I tune into hearing Him, the floodgates of innovation are busting open. However, in those dark moments when I struggle find meaning and purpose, I immediately try to evaluate if I allowed greed to taint my integrity.
Greed brings out the worst in us. It does not inspire success but desperation! We make horrible decisions and chalk up our indifference to counsel as "free will!" I am not saying that we cannot learn from our mistakes but it appears that desperation turns off our learning caps. That means of the avenues of comprehension and application are closed for business.
The times I see the worst in desperation is when we keep ourselves too busy to learn anything because we feel that we need to keep moving. There are task oriented people who are successful and then there are busy bodies who remain in a perpetual state of disappointment because they cannot stop moving. Successful people control their tasks compared to busy bodied individuals who are controlled by their tasks!
Which one describes us best? Maybe there is a little of each in all of us. If we are honest, our lives are driven by tasks from the moment we awake to brushing our teeth before going to bed.
I'm not saying that the tasks are unimportant. I just wonder if we are too busy to succeed?
